About Sally Eisen Miller

PhD, LCSW-ACSW-ACP, LMFT

The practice of Dr. Sally Eisen Miller is inclusive and diverse. In over 40 years of practice, her focus is the person rather than the symptom, from a systemic framework. Whether seeing youth, young adults, families, couples, or individuals, she understands that all are part of a family system influenced by generations of the past. Her post graduate work with Dr.Murray Bowen, pioneer in the field of the family, influences how she thinks and how she practices.

She has worked with homeless women as Director of the Women’s Home, transforming the place from a transitional to a home of rehabilitation. Among her other experiences are working at the VA Hospital and working as Director of Counseling in the US Army Drug & Alcohol Program. At DePelchin Children’s Home, Dr. Miller worked in the foster care & adoption program. She was on the faculty of Baylor College of Medicine as the Assistant Chief of Social Work, Child & Adolescent Psychiatry, Texas Children’s Hospital. She also served as Director of Professional Services at Jewish Family Service. Besides a private practice, Dr. Miller supervises and teaches social work and marriage & family therapy interns. She conducts workshops and consults with organizations as well as serving on several community boards and committees where she has been chair and president.
